Listen to Tom Morello's New 'Marching on Ferguson' Protest Song

After Tom Morello premiered his Michael Brown Protest Song "Marching on Ferguson" live in Los Angeles last month, the Nightwatchman has released a studio recording that will help the activists arrested in the city's protests.

With its Monday release, "Marching on Ferguson" comes just in time for the culmination of the four days of activism and civil disobedience over the weekend called "Ferguson October."

The song is an appropriately steadily marching number with chanting choruses and heavy riffs. Listen here:

The track is available for free download at FergusonOctober.com, and is the first in its "Artists for Ferguson" campaign that will feature new artists and songs to help support a legal fund for arrested protestors. Though the song is offered for free, fans are encouraged to leave a donation for that fund.

"100% of the profits from 'Marching On Ferguson' will support defending the protestors in the Ferguson area who have faced attacks, wrongful arrest, and violence from the police," the former Rage Against the Machine guitarist said in a statement. "I've witnessed countless incidents of racially motivated police brutality in my lifetime and it's time to say 'Enough!' in the name of all those wrongfully killed and abused. For all the courageous men and women raising their voices against injustice in Ferguson, and beyond, give 'em hell. This song is for you."
