THE BAND PERRY TO HONOR GLEN CAMPBELL

Nashville’s downtown Music City Center will be the site of a special benefit screening and acoustic concert on October 19th for the documentary film Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me. The Band Perry, Delta Rae and Ashley Campbell, daughter of the iconic singer-guitarist, are among performers announced for the event. Tickets, available at a base price of $95, will go on sale to the public Friday, September 26th, at 10:00 a.m CT, with proceeds benefiting Alzheimer’s disease awareness.

Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me opens in theaters in New York and Nashville on October 24th, followed by a national release to more than 50 cities. An unflinching yet celebratory portrayal of one of America’s greatest entertainers of the past six decades, the film also deals with Campbell’s 2011 announcement that he is battling Alzheimer’s — the first time a major American celebrity would share such an experience with the world. To close the extraordinary chapter of his life and career as a globally recognized performer, Campbell embarked with his family on what was planned to be his three-week Goodbye Tour, but which turned into a 151-show trek, the drama and emotion of which are captured in the film.

In addition to rare clips, plus both new and vintage performance footage from Campbell, a number of celebrities are featured in the film, including the Band Perry, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Bill Clinton, U2 guitarist the Edge, Jay Leno, Jimmy Webb and Steve Martin.

Directed by James Keach (Walk the Line), the film will be accompanied a six-song EP featuring the final song Glen Campbell recorded, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You.”
