AC/DC Announces New Album 'Rock Or Bust' and Departure of Founding Guitarist Malcolm Young

There's some good news and some bad news for AC/DC fans... Good news first: the legendary rock outlet will be releasing a new album Rock or Bust in December. The bad news: AC/DC will be moving on without founding guitarist Malcolm Young for the first time in 41 years.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, AC/DC will releaseRock or Bust on Dec. 2. Many details about the new LP are scarce, but it has been confirmed that it will contain 11 tracks. Though an official lead single has not been named, fans of the hard rock band will be able to hear a new song, "Play Ball," during the upcoming Major League Baseball playoff games on Turner Sports and TBS.

According to MLB.com, the baseball post-season will begin on Sept. 30 with the American League wild card game on TBS.

Rock or Bust will be AC/DC's first album since 2008's Black Ice.

The album will also be the first AC/DC record to not include Malcolm Young. Following a mysterious, undisclosed illness, Young was not involved in the recording process for Rock or Bust, and it has now been confirmed that he will not be returning to AC/DC, in order to focus on his health.

"Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm's condition, he will not be returning to the band," a press release stated. "AC/DC will undertake a world tour in support of Rock or Bust in 2015. Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus Young and Malcolm Young, plays rhythm guitar on Rock or Bust and will accompany the band on tour."

Further details about Rock or Bust and AC/DC's subsequent world tour are forthcoming.
