len Campbell plans to release the last song he ever recorded, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” which the Country Music Hall of Fame singer wrote with producer Julian Raymond. The song was recorded specifically for the documentary on Glen’s life, Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me, and will be relased to digital retailers on Sept. 30.
“I’m Not Gonna Miss You” was inspired by Glen’s ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The song talks about the things in life that the disease steals from its victims, including memory.
Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me, a documentary directed by actor James Keach, is an honest look at how Glen was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and his struggles in living with the illness.
To accompany the film, a soundtrack album will be released on Sept. 30, featuring “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” “Gentle on My Mind” by The Band Perry and an original tune by Glen’s daughter Ashley, “Home Again.”
