I wouldn't know a Beck song from a Beyonce song or a Kanye song ... and didn't even watch the show. But Kanye has to be one the most biased people ever.
Hey, we all have our favorites. I used to get mad at some the winners a couple of decades ago when I actually cared .. but still recognized that the winner certainly had merit even if I didn't like his/her music.
But I guess Kanye speaks for us all. The Grammys remain commercialism at its best

Sam Smith having some talent is basically a industry created singer who is terreibly overrated
and frankly should not be famous. They usually give the most awards to the artist, that is
has the most FM airplay and download/record sales.
But as often happens at the phoney grammies, just like the
Oscars the industry voters pick one entertainer to throw most of their approval one.
Know artists who are Gay in the past such as Michael Stipe from REM or singer song writer
Rufus Wainwright are Worldclass performers - geniune item- and not a Sam Smith bunch of winning and annoying, though emotional personal stories.
