Smashing Pumpkins were obsessive about production, technique, sound etc. It sucks that he played every instrument while the band posed for videos I guess. I can't comment really - he seemed more into Queen and so on than 80s underground art punk music. Sonic Youth were actually referenced as a snob item in Juno !! According to the film, ordinary people like the Ramones and tacky, suburban rock music, but professionals and indie-yuppies collect SY vinyl etc. Don't know how well that would jibe with K Gordons feminist outlook, though
Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon is set to play a tiny London club show with her new musical project, Body/Head.
Collaborating with 'free-noise' guitarist, Bill Nace, the pair will play London's Café Oto on February 22. Body/Head is an improv based duo, inspired by Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd and filmmaker Catherine Breillat.
Last year Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo revealed that Sonic Youth have played their "last shows for a while" and admitted he didn't know what the future held for them.
