"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" soundtrack is available for pre order on iTunes, and along with the tunes comes an impressive list of artists, new tracks and remixes all curated by Lorde.
Chvrches, Bat for Lashes, Grace Jones, Tove Lo, and the Chemical Brothers with Miguel all have new tracks on the album, while "Boom Clap" singer Charli XCX teams up with Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon on a new song called "Kingdom" and even Kanye West makes his mark, reworking Lorde's "Yellow Flicker Beat."
Releasing her thoughts in a statement, the 17-year-old said "curating the soundtrack for such a hotly anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance.
" Adding,"the cast and story are an inspiring for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic learning's, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people."Surprise indeed! As fans will have to wait until November 17, four days before the film hits theatres, to find out what the fifth track is.
Lorde appears on four tracks: The single "Yellow Flicker Beat", a Kanye West remix of the same track, the closer "Ladder Song" and a guest on Stromae's "Meltdown," that also features Pusha T, Q-Tip and Haim.
