Black Sabbath to Record New Album and Plan Final Tour

It looks like Black Sabbath will be returning to the studio again in 2015, according to Metal Hammer’s interview with Ozzy Osbourne. The band, anchored by bass wizardGeezer Butler, will reportedly record one more album with a final tour cycle.

“The whole Sabbath experience this time around was great,” Ozzy told Metal Hammer.

“We all made friends, we didn’t [expletive] around, we all knew that we had a job to do, and we did it. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to do one more album, and a final tour.”

Butler teased the idea of a new album earlier this year. “We’ve still got four tracks left over from the album,” he told Time Out Dubai, “so maybe we’ll fill in the other four or five tracks and put out another album. If it’s right. We wouldn’t do it just for the sake of it, or the money or whatever.”

Their 20th album will reportedly be produced by Rick Rubin, who also worked with the group on their latest record, 13. Osbourne estimates the writing sessions will start in early 2015. “It’ll be sooner rather than later,” he said. “Obviously a lot of it is coming down to Tony’s health, he’s obviously got his cancer treatment, but we’ll get onto it next year. I don’t know if we’ll be writing in England or LA, but I’ll fly to the [expletive] moon for it if I have to!”
