Grimes has expressed her anger at people who edit her Wikipedia page to reference comments she made about drug use while making 2012 album 'Visions'.The musician's Wikipedia page references a 2012 interview in which she says she "blacked out the windows and did tons of amphetamines and stayed up for three weeks and didn’t eat anything," while making the record.
However, subsequent attempts to remove the quotes from Wikipedia have proved ineffective, with members of the public repeatedly reinserting the quotes into her online profile.
Explaning her stance on the issue, Grimes wrote a post on her Tumblr and stated: "Editing a website that people take seriously and reference all the time so that it looks like i think amphetamines are cool is incredibly irresponsible." She added: "I don't want that to be part of my narrative, and if it has to be I want people to know that I hate hard drugs. All they’ve ever done is kill my friends and cause me to be unproductive."
Grimes' Wikipedia page still has the quotes about amphetamines on it but now also comes with an edit referencing her blog post and feelings on the subject.
Grimes recently unveiled brand new song, 'Go', which was reportedly originally wrote for Rihanna, but was rejected. The song features producer Blood Diamonds and was premiered live by Grimes at Governors Ball festival in New York earlier this year alongside two other new songs. Grimes is expected to release her fourth album, the follow-up to her 2012 album 'Visions', later this year.
