no such thing metal has many different sub genres to choose from which people from many other sub genres in the metal community may or may not like. Just because you have a favorite sub genre in the metal community doesn't make it "real" it makes it's your favorite but it doesn't mean it has any superiority to any of the other sub genres.

It is no loss to the punk scene as tom delonge hasn’t contributed anything to it in the last 12 years. Good riddance I say.
