Amidst a mounting legal battle, Dr. Luke has filed a lawsuit against Kesha's mother accusing her of defamation and "tortious interference" with her daughter's contract.
The suit against Pebe Sebert, is a parallel complaint to the one the producer filed earlier this month but for a different territory.
Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, filed his original suit after Kesha sued him under allegations of sexual assault and battery.Gottwald's new complaint is filed in Tennessee, where Sebert does business. With the original suit filed in New York, this new one comes as a precautionary measure in case she were able to have that New York suit dismissed on the basis she does not live there.
States the new complaint is nearly identical to the original and will be withdrawn if the New York suit moves forward.
Like his initial lawsuit, this new one claims Sebert had previously discussed breaking the exclusive recording contract Kesha and Gottwald had signed and has led to Kesha not sharing new music with Gottwald or allowing him to produce her work. It also claims defamation against "false and shocking accusations" the mother and daughter have spread about the producer as a method of ruining his reputation until he lets Kesha terminate their contract.
